How to get fuzzy search on GNOME Shell applications page?

Asked 3 years ago (Jan 20, 2021) in the field of Operating Systems by Pamella

Since searching in GNOME Shell’s Applications Screen does not support fuzzy search in applications and files, is there a way to get fuzzy search on the GNOME Shell?

Dear Pamella!

You are absolutely right! The issue you mentioned is reported as a bug!

The solution of Fuzzy App Search for GNOME  is provided by a new GNOME Extension which is added to the GNOME Extension website.

In this way, you can use it since it adds fuzzy application search results to GNOME Shell’s search overview screen.

Find it on

Feel free to ask your further probable questions.

Good Luck.
